Today, September 1, 2020, Dungarvin welcomes over 400 individuals living in western and Central Kentucky into the Dungarvin family of supports.

Community Alternatives Kentucky, LLC (CAKY), a provider of residential, family home/host homes, day training, periodic and case management services across the state of Kentucky has worked with Dungarvin for the last several months to transition their supports to Dungarvin. As such, and in addition to our supports offered in Florence, Louisville, Somerset and Pikeville, Dungarvin will support individuals through our newly minted 425 staff and 100 Family Home Providers in Benton, Owensboro, Henderson, Bowling Green, Lexington, Frankfort, Winchester, Morehead and Hazard.

We wish to express our deep appreciation to the individuals and guardians who have chosen to partner with Dungarvin, and to the many employees, contractors and management team members for their continued commitment to the individuals whom they have supported for several decades in many instances. Further, such transitions require substantial effort on the part of case managers, state guardians, and the support and action of our partners within state government including the Behavioral Health Department of Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities, the Department of Aging and Independent Living and the Department of Medicaid Services. Finally we thank the both the CAKY and Dungarvin staff working behind the scenes to make as smooth a transition as possible over the last two months.

We are pleased to communicate that substantially all direct service, management and support department personnel transferred to Dungarvin effective September 1. Brenda Wylie, CAKY’s regional director, as well as her administrative team will remain to support the transition and integration of CAKY into Dungarvin. Julie Josephitis will continue to lead Dungarvin Kentucky’s current complement of services, and both will report directly to Dan Griffin. Over time the two organizations will integrate their systems and where there is overlap in services, changes in Julie’s and Brenda’s geographic responsibility will occur.

If you have questions about this announcement or other questions about Dungarvin, please contact Dungarvin’s National Central Office at 800-967-2791.
