A person served by Dungarvin Colorado will be honored by The Arc Pikes Peak Region during the organization’s annual Get in the Mix Dinner and Awards Celebration, Sept. 26.
Grady, who is supported in Dungarvin Colorado’s Adult Host Home Services, will receive the Achiever of the Year Award, given to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, for showing determination to succeed. Dungarvin Program Director Blake West said Grady is incredibly deserving of the honor.
“He is an amazing man; he goes about life with such a positive attitude. He’s friendly, kind and willing to help you out. He will greet you with a smile on his face and thank you for your time,” Blake said.
Grady has many interests, including his job at Marco’s Pizza. “They love him there and he’s become an important part of the Marco’s team,” Blake said. “He has now been with Marco’s for 11 years and continues to show them his worth.”
The Arc Pikes Peak dinner and awards event will take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Colorado Springs. The keynote speaker will be Ben Kjar of the award-winning documentary film “Standout,” which chronicles Ben’s remarkable journey of overcoming adversity to become an NCAA All-American wrestler.
