Compass Career Solutions has expanded its Supported Employment and Community Inclusion services for people in need of supports in Thurston County, Washington.
Compass, a Dungarvin company with several locations in the state, is offering the two services through a contract with Washington’s Developmental Disabilities Administration. Between Compass and Dungarvin, people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in Thurston County now have access to three types of services, including Dungarvin Washington’s Supported Living.
“Expanding our services into Thurston County gives us an exciting opportunity to support more people in building meaningful connections, discovering their strengths and reaching goals that are important to them,” said Compass Area Manager Tara Harkness. “There’s a real need for individualized, person-centered services that help people become more connected to their communities and pursue meaningful employment. We’re excited to strengthen those opportunities in Thurston County and to continue building partnerships that help the people we serve thrive.”
Supported Employment Services assist people in job searching and preparation, and ongoing, on-site support. These services include support with resumes, interview preparation, job coaching and continued check-ins at the job site.
Compass Community Inclusion Services support people with I/DD in connecting with their communities and developing friendships. This includes supporting participation in events, clubs, volunteering and other community engagement opportunities.
“We’re excited to be able to offer these valuable services to more people in Washington,” said Compass Senior Director Brandy Gerdes-Schutz.
