The persons served in this home require significant support, provided by Direct Support Professionals Carrie Kashani and Jacqueline Reeves, as well as Operational Program Director Samantha Richburg. Michael, one of the residents, is non-verbal and uses gestures, sounds and pictures to communicate. Amazingly, through careful observation, compassion and patience, the staff who work closely with him have come to understand his unique sign language and are able to communicate with him quite well. The team also created picture books to help Michael express himself more easily.
