Dungarvin Washington’s Training Team is now using new interactive presentation technology that has boosted the capabilities of its education sessions for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). The Tacoma training team’s new interactive flat panel display and integrated digital whiteboard have solved a few challenges and given the team exciting new opportunities. The technology will soon be expanded to the Vancouver team as well.
The 83-inch panel has built-in speakers, a microphone and a webcam. Previously, the Dungarvin team had to piece together audio-visual solutions that sometimes worked but were never ideal. These new tools allow the team to connect with the rest of the region via Zoom teleconferencing for new hire orientations with clear audio (both sound and microphone), as well as a high-quality camera can capture the entire room.
Additionally, Dungarvin staff members are now able to write on the integrated digital whiteboard and save notes to be pulled up later so they can add to them. Wirelessly casting computer screens and PowerPoints allows staff to broadcast video with audio and not trip over cords or be tied to a specific location, as they were before.
The panel also enables Dungarvin team members to write on top of (or annotate) websites and presentations so they can transfer their brainstorming ideas in the moment right onto the presented materials. They can also pull up the Therap electronic medical record and point out exactly where employees need to click.
Looking forward, the Training Team is excited to be able to point and click on the panel in Therap as they roll out the Therap Daily Medication Administration Record (MAR) and new Workday applications. These new tools make possible the highly-interactive training that Dungarvin DSPs need, and deserve, to be fully engaged, trained and comfortable navigating Dungarvin’s systems.
