Scott Good’s journey in the IDD field began more than 30 years ago when he was a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Ohio. Since then, he’s taken on numerous roles at Dungarvin, currently leading our New Mexico team as State Director. Get to know what he values in ‘5 questions with Scott Good:’

How long have you worked at Dungarvin; in the IDD industry?

I have worked for Dungarvin New Mexico for six years, one as an Area Director and the last five as State Director. I’ve worked in the field for 30 years, starting as DSP in a group home in Ohio. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think of the first people I helped support, each person was such a big part of my life and I’m thankful to them for teaching me so much.

Why do you have a passion for this work?

I’ve always enjoyed helping people, it gives me a feeling of pride and accomplishment that I don’t know if I could ever get doing something else.

What is your most treasured possession?

Anything made for me by my three daughters, and a hunting rifle that once belonged to my father.

What would you most like to see happen in your state to better serve people with disabilities?

Increased rates that support paying staff a fair livable wage for the hard work they perform, supporting the people we are honored to serve.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Becoming a father and raising three beautiful daughters with the best partner I could imagine, my wife, Tina.
