Dungarvin Oregon State Director Brenda Linden has been appointed to the Multnomah County Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Advisory Council for a three-year term, which began this month. The volunteer council advices county staff and administration on the planning, implementation and ongoing improvement of services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), their families and others who support them.
Brenda brings more than 15 years of leadership experience in the disability services field, overseeing Dungarvin operations that support individuals and families across Oregon. She also serves as Oregon’s elected member to the ANCOR Board of Representatives, where she collaborates with national leaders on issues impacting people with I/DD.
Working in this field and joining the advisory council are both professional and personal decisions for Brenda, as she is a parent and aunt of individuals with I/DD. Because of this, she brings a unique perspective to the advisory council and is dedicated to ensuring that people with disabilities have access to quality services, meaningful community inclusion and self-determination. These ideals are central to Dungarvin’s mission to respect and respond to the choices of people in need of supports.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve on the advisory council and contribute to the important work being done to strengthen services and supports for individuals with I/DD,” Brenda said. “I look forward to bringing my professional and personal perspectives together to help advance inclusive, high-quality services and meaningful opportunities for people and families throughout Multnomah County.”
