Jennifer Washington, a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for Dungarvin Wisconsin, is celebrating her 10-year Milestone Anniversary with the organization.
She is known among her peers and the individuals she supports as a kind, reliable team member with a calm demeanor, said Dungarvin Wisconsin Program Director Verneva Williams.
“Jennifer has always gone beyond what is expected to ensure the individuals’ needs are met, and she does not hesitate to help when a program is in need of staff, even on her day off. But, perhaps most importantly, she loves what she does: making the individuals served feel happy and like someone cares.” Verneva said.
Dungarvin Wisconsin Program Director Micheal Leo added that Jennifer is versatile in her ability to serve people with a wide variety of support needs.
Reflecting on her 10 years with the organization, Jennifer said it’s been more than just a workplace to her. “Dungarvin has been a place where I have grown both personally and professionally. When I first joined the company, I had a passion for helping others. Over the years, that passion has only grown stronger as I’ve gained valuable experience, built meaningful relationships and developed the skills and confidence to better support the individuals we serve.”
When asked what she likes most about being a DSP, Jennifer answered that it’s knowing the work she does has a positive impact on someone’s life every day.
“Whether I’m supporting an individual through daily challenges, encouraging them to achieve their goals or mentoring and supporting fellow team members, I find purpose in helping others succeed,” she said. “There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a person served gain confidence, become more independent or simply smile because they know someone genuinely cares.”
