Hayley Hufendick has been in the direct support field for about 15 years, working in a variety of different roles. That experience led her to Dungarvin last year, when she joined the Colorado team in the position of Director of New Development and Marketing. Before entering this field, she had worked in movie theaters and video rental stores. “It let me explore every weird movie I could find, which sparked my curiosity about people and their stories. That curiosity eventually led me to direct support, and I fell in love with the field,” she said.

How did the place where you grew up shape who you are today?

I grew up in Wyoming, which is a unique and sometimes isolating place. I think it shaped my appreciation for independence and sparked my lifelong attraction to strange, quiet and off-the-beaten-path places.

What do you like to do for fun?

I love spending time at home with my 16-year-old cat, who is perfect. I also enjoy interior design and seeking out interesting vegetarian restaurants.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

One thing I’m proud of is being the first in my family to graduate from college. I’m also proud of a long-term personal goal: having my home and photos featured in an interior design publication.
