Before Dungarvin Oregon’s Program Quality Supervisor Bailee Heer joined Dungarvin 12 years ago, she had been a customer service professional, primarily for food and retail businesses. She began with Dungarvin as a Direct Support Professional and then grew her career by serving in different roles, including Program Coordinator, Program Director and Program Quality Coordinator.

What do you like most about your job?

I enjoy identifying opportunities for improvement, finding solutions to challenges and working with teams to create processes that help programs be successful. It’s rewarding to know that the work we do behind the scenes ultimately helps improve outcomes for both our employees and the individuals we support.

How did the place where you grew up shape who you are today?

I grew up in Seattle and moved to Eugene, Oregon, during high school. Living in both places gave me two very different perspectives. Seattle taught me to be independent and exposed me to a lot of different people and experiences, while Eugene became home and taught me the value of community and building lasting relationships. I think those experiences helped me become adaptable and comfortable working with people from all different backgrounds.

What do you like to do for fun?

In my free time, I enjoy painting, reading and spending time outdoors; some of my favorite moments are getting away and enjoying nature with my boyfriend and family.

Who are the heroes in your life?

My mom and my grandma have always been my heroes. They taught me the importance of hard work, perseverance and treating others with kindness and respect. These are values I carry with me every day.

What do you value most about your Dungarvin team?

What I value is that many of us started as DSPs and understand the day-to-day work firsthand. That shared experience makes us more supportive, collaborative and realistic in how we approach challenges, and it strengthens how we work together to support our teams and improve quality.
