Residential Support in North Carolina
Alternative Family Living for adults with disabilities
Residential services in North Carolina are provided to individuals living in their own homes or apartments, with or without roommates, depending on the location. These settings support people with a wide range of needs, including significant medical, physical, or behavioral challenges, with staffing levels that adjust to the needs of the individuals served.
Alternative Family Living (AFL) provides supports that enable a person to live in an AFL setting of their choice and be active in the community, increasing life skills, providing needed supervision, maximizing self-sufficiency, and strengthening self-determination. Our goal is to enhance independence and quality of life through flexible services that can be easily modified as abilities, interests, choices, and needs change.
