Day Program Manager Danielle Ciufo joined Dungarvin Connecticut in 2022 as a Coordinator at a group home in Torrington, and later, transitioned to her current position. What she enjoys most about her job is the opportunities to plan outings for Day Program participants and then support them to have meaningful experiences in their communities.
Some of the places Danielle has taken participants include the Mystic Aquarium, the Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport and the Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence, Rhode Island.
What do you most value about your Dungarvin team?
I value our teamwork and willingness help each other with any issues that might come up. My Program Director is amazing, and always there for any question or talk about ideas.
What characteristics – or adjectives – would people use to describe you?
Empathetic, and has zero filter.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
My sobriety. I am very proud of it. Also, having this experience has helped me support some of our persons served who have struggled with addiction and the feelings and challenges that go along with maintaining sobriety.
Who are your heroes in life and why?
My mom. My father was often sick for a good part of my youth. I watched my mother take care of him and hold down the house at times. Both my parents instilled a strong work ethic in me.
If you weren’t working for Dungarvin, what would be your dream job?
Animal Day Care! I want to play with all the fur babies.
