Kathy Olding started with Dungarvin in 2018 as the Human Resources Director for the Ohio and Kentucky operations. She transitioned to the Dungarvin People Services Director position in 2022. Before joining the organization, she worked for 28 years as the Human Resources Director for a hospitality company that operated hotels and restaurants across five states. “I wondered if there would ever be a job or company I could love as much as that one,” she said. “I am so thankful and blessed to say that I love my job and Dungarvin even more.”
What do you love most about your job?
Two things: The team I am honored to lead is awesome! We have had some big changes and challenges in the last 3-plus years, but we always pull together to take care of any task asked of us. I am so proud of the work we do. While the People Services team does not work directly with persons served, we work hard to take care of the employees who do. The other is working with National HR Operations Director Debi Allsup; she has been a true mentor for me.
What attributes do you most value in a co-worker?
There are many, but at the top of the list would be caring about the company mission and knowing that what they do every day affects our persons served. If you start with that foundation, you will always do what is needed and give 100 percent.
What do you like to do for fun?
My husband and I love to travel. Going to Puerto Rico is an annual tradition. We are taking our first trip to Europe this year, and I am so excited. We love learning about the culture and history of the places we visit.

Who are your heroes in life and why?
My Mom. Our family did not have much, but she worked very hard to make sure I had a good education so I would have the opportunities she did not. Unfortunately, she did not live to see how her hard work paid off. I know she is very proud of me.
If you weren’t working for Dungarvin, what would be your dream job?
I love the work I have done throughout my 36-year career in Human Resources, and have never really thought about doing anything else. A younger me might say working on a cruise ship and seeing the world.
