24-Hour Emergency Assistance in Minnesota
Help with health or personal emergencies so people can remain safe
24-Hour Emergency Assistance provides on-call counseling, on-call problem solving and/or immediate response for assistance at a person’s home due to health or personal emergencies unrelated to an injury or immediate danger.
This service can be used alone or paired with Individualized Home Supports to create a stronger safety net.
Staff respond by phone or in person depending on the level of service, providing on-call triage, check-ins, and in-person support when needed. 24-Hour Emergency Assistance is especially helpful for people transitioning to more independent settings who still need round-the-clock backup to maintain stability.
To qualify, a person must have a CADI, DD, or BI waiver, live in their own non–provider-controlled home, not receive 24-hour supervision, and be at risk of needing more intensive ongoing supervision without this support. This service does not replace calling 911 when necessary.
