Get to know Russ and his values a bit more through ‘5 Questions with Russ McGill.’
1. Why do you have a passion for this work?
At Dungarvin, our employees provide value-added services and support functions every day. I feel very strongly about the value-added part of helping good people accomplish extraordinary things.
2. What is your most treasured possession?
My family and close circle of friends, and the countless memories I have with both. Also, my office has more than a few family pictures and art projects from my grandchildren. I always crack a smile when I look at their drawings and love when I get to add to the collection!
3. What do you most value in a friend or a co-worker?
Whether it’s a personal or professional relationship, it’s important that I know where someone’s coming from, and they mean what they say.
4. Who are your heroes in life and why?
My wife, Susan. She is a special educator who teaches children with autism. Over many years, I’ve seen the positive impact she’s had on her students and their families, and the long-lasting relationships she’s built with them. Her work goes way beyond the classroom, and what she accomplishes every day is truly amazing and nothing short of heroic. She also happens to be a great wife, mom and “Nanny”!
5. What do you most value about the Dungarvin team with whom you work?
I value my team because they are some of the smartest people I’ve ever worked with, and they truly care about the groups they support. Each team member is looked upon by their internal customers as a trusted business partner, and I’m very proud of them for that!
“Happy…energetic…kid at heart!” These are all adjectives colleagues have used do describe Chad Morinville, Director of Information Systems. Chad started in healthcare informatics and information security and has now been an expert in the healthcare technology industry for the past 10 years. Chad says that he feels fortunate to help support Dungarvin health professionals that do so much for so many. Get to know more about Chad and his values through ‘5 questions with Chad Morenville:’
1. Why do you have a passion for this work?
There are many different industries an IT professional can get into. I love working in the healthcare industry. I never need to wonder if I’m making a difference in the world. More accurately, I’m pleased to help support those healthcare professionals that do so much for so many.
2. What is your most treasured possession?
Memories. And the trinkets that help me remember! My Dungarvin office has a shelf full of ‘conversational pieces’ tied to a memory, such as a baseball from the first baseball game I took my wife to, where we caught a foul ball. My home office is filled with many drawings and other artwork created by my children, including items such as the flower I gave to my daughter during our first Daddy/Daughter dance.
3. What do you most value in a friend or a co-worker?
I value friends having thoughts and personalities opposite of me. I’m an introvert, I love it when my friends suck me into their ‘crazy’ life. I like having constructive disagreements with friends and co-workers as well. My friends and coworkers constantly get me doing and learning new things.
4. What would you most like to see happen in your state to better serve people with disabilities?
Interoperability with healthcare and payment systems. There are so many different healthcare systems and devices that all have to potential to communicate. This could be medical devices at home like blood pressure cuffs, thermometers, and scales; Electronic Health Records used by healthcare professionals; and payment systems used by payment providers. Each individual has their own story, and if each of these systems cannot communicate with each other, healthcare providers are only getting part of that story.
5. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Each milestone in my kid’s life is my greatest achievement. This past month my youngest daughter jumped off the diving board for the first time in swimming lessons. Her (and my) excitement far surpassed any of the personal achievements I have accomplished. My oldest daughter is learning to drive. I had her learning to drive our pontoon the last two summers to get here ready for the road as she turned 15 this fall. Excitement for her, anxiety for me, still an achievement though! Achievements are best when they are accomplished as a team!

1. Why do you have a passion for this work – how so – please briefly explain.
I believe wholeheartedly that people should be themselves. Often times society tries to put people into buckets and not give them a fair chance at success. While I don’t work directly with the individuals we support, I feel like what I do “behind the scenes” helps provide then with solutions for success. I love seeing them smile and enjoying life to the fullest.
2. What is your most treasured possession?
I’m not a possession person, things don’t mean anything to me…its more about the relationships I have and the friendships I’ve made over time that mean more to me. Things come and go and tend to pick up dust, worthwhile relationships, and friendships last forever.
3. Who are your heroes in life and why?
Easy…my parents. My parents have taught me so many valuable life skills that I will be eternally grateful to them. My mom taught me how to be a project manager by running “her” home and family, she taught me how to be gracious, loving and understanding. My dad, and yes, I’m a daddy’s girl, has taught me to never give up, keep fighting and always look forward. They both taught me how to work hard and smile in the face of adversity day in and day out regardless of the situation. I have them both to thank for everything I have in life.
4. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
At this point in my life, graduating college. School and studying never came easy for me, not to mention I paid for it myself while working full-time. Getting that diploma taught me a lot about myself and what kind of person I wanted to be in life.
5. What do you most value about the Dungarvin team with whom you work?
I have had the pleasure of working with 2 different teams since joining Dungarvin. I most value the personal friendships I made with the North Carolina-ACI team, and what they taught me about the IDD field. The Project Management Office team that I work with now is incredible. The entire group is so selfless and would do anything and everything it takes to make the organization successful. I value each and every one of their opinions, ideas and tips/tricks or “nuggets” of information they share with the group and how willing they are to collaborate and work together as a team, they truly define the definition of “Team,” and I am honored to be a part of this group.
