Using his phone’s camera lens as a tool to understand and communicate with the world around him, this talented young man is now an accomplished filmmaker.

Jack came into Dungarvin Colorado, LLC services last year, on his 18th birthday, transitioning from the Children’s Extensive Support (CES) Waiver to Family Caregiver services. He is on the autism spectrum and as a young child was functionally nonverbal. Jack’s mom Joy used her phone to entertain them during wait times at doctor and therapist appointments. She would film small video clips and play them back to Jack. Soon, he began using his own phone’s camera lens as a tool to understand and communicate with the world around him, and is now an accomplished filmmaker.

We are excited to be able to provide supports to such a talented young man and help him continue to grow. Check out Jack’s amazing story below.
