Services & Supports

Dungarvin Ohio, LLC. provides a variety of services in many different counties.  The range of particular services and supports is vast, in order to meet the unique needs of individuals.  Dungarvin believes that helping people with developmental disabilities achieve full potential improves the quality of life of the entire community.  We are proud to be a part of that process.

Child & Family Services

Foster Care: Dungarvin Ohio is a licensed foster care agency. We currently have 5 foster homes in our network providing placement to eleven children. While our foster care program is small, we offer a specialized service by providing safe, loving homes and intensive support to children with special needs.

Respite Services: This service is offered through a grant aimed at child abuse/neglect prevention. Parents consistently identify a break from their children as a critical service to help them manage stress and thereby reduce the risk of child abuse/neglect. In response to this need, Dungarvin staff provides in-home respite for children to allow their parents to have some needed time away.

In-Home Services: This service is provided to a child, adolescent, or adult living with his or her family.

Care Management Services:  These services are provided through a contract with Kids In Different Systems (KIDS). Children who receive services through KIDS are children who are involved with 2 or more of the 5 major systems that serve youth in Franklin County. (Those 5 systems are MR/DD, Children Services, ADAMH-Alcohol Drugs and Mental Health, Juvenile Court, and Special Education.) KIDS cases involve children who are high-end need and usually are dual-diagnosis (MR/DD and Mental Health). Dungarvin provides a variety of services in these cases depending on the needs of the child and family.  Most often, Dungarvin staff provide various levels of in-home support, respite, and activities aimed at community inclusion.

Help Me Grow Services: This is a program which provides health and developmental services to expectant parents, newborns, infants and toddlers.  The goal is to help children start school healthy and ready to learn.  A service coordinator assigned to each family will provide assistance with learning about parenting techniques and child development, as well as linking the family to additional services as needed.  Assessments are completed for the child's vision, nutrition, and developmental stages.  An individualized Family Service Plan is also created to help guide these services, keeping the family's concerns and goals in mind.

Supported Living/Waiver Services

In the continuing effort to support individuals with challenging behaviors, Dungarvin Ohio, in coordination with county employees, develop behavior plans and trains staff in Behavior Management techniques and interventions. In the development of a behavior plan, we include advocates and family members in the process. We emphasize positive methods and strategies, minimizing the loss of individual rights. Using the lest intrusive approach possible, our plans are developed to promote positive and appropriate interactions, not for the convenience of staff.
