Overview of Consumer Directed Services:
Consumer Directed Community Supports (CDCS) are designed to
support persons and families who want to establish a greater
degree of control over services.
These services allow persons to build, strengthen, or
maintain informal networks of community supports.
CDCS is a billable service currently available under all
Minnesota's Waiver programs.
CDCS are unlicensed
services designed, selected and supervised by the person,
guardian or a paid Flexible Case Manager. This person decides
how to best utilize available funding to meet needs and help
achieve life goals. The goal of CDCS is to put more control into
the hands of the person receiving services. CDCS is intended to
permit and encourage the use of natural supports whenever
possible.
When a guardian selects the CDCS program, the state approves a
set dollar amount representing the maximum amount the person has
at his or her disposal to purchase services. The
guardian designs a Consumer Support Plan with desired outcomes
and defines the types of services and purchases that will assist
the person in achieving those outcomes.

Dungarvin Fiscal Services MN (DFSM) offers the
following services within the Consumer-Directed program:

Fiscal Employer Agent (Payroll and Tax Filing) Services

Agency With Choice (Yes! We offer employee
medical and dental benefits)

Respite

Personal Support
Employee Placement:
Persons and/or guardians who wish to use Agency with Choice
services to obtain staffing support but need assistance in
locating qualified employees can utilize Employee Placement.
DFSM will screen and interview potential applicants based on
requirements set by the person/guardian. The person/guardian
completes a second interview and then selects the most qualified
candidate. Placed employees are guaranteed for sixty days.
