"Thank You, Dungarvin, For Caring So Much"
by: Deborah Smith, parent
My husband and I would like to
thank this organization (Dungarvin) for selecting Birmingham, Alabama as
a place to house one of their Residential/Day Programs. We can't
tell you how much it means to us, and the rest of our family, that
Tiffany is in a safe and loving environment.
We are thankful to and for the
staff that has been selected to service this area. Tiffany
received very personal care at her day program from Diane from day one
up until now. We are also very thankful for the four ladies that
care for her in the residential program: Naomi, Shawn, Sabrenia & Wanda.
They all have gone above and beyond the call of duty to make Tiffany's
experience at Dungarvin more than just another group home setting.
The love and personal care that Tiffany receives here shows in how she
is dressed, how she enjoys where she lives and the many things that she
has learned to make her more of an independent adult.
I am especially thankful for
Naomi, who has worked with Tiffany for so many years and has taken the
time to teach Tiffany many self help skills. I have just recently
met Christine, who I believe has a real feel for how important it is
that parents and loved ones be kept involved with the lives [sic]
of their loved one. Sandra Gallimore has been very supportive and
helpful in helping me address my questions and concerns. She has
take time to seriously listen to me and acted upon them [sic].
I am thankful that for the
first time since I have had to place Tiffany outside of my home for
additional care, I lay down at night with a sense of peace knowing that
she is being well taken care of. I now have some of the same
feelings of most parents when their adult children are away at school or
have just moved out on their own.
Thank you, Dungarvin, for
caring so much.
