"Everything is going to be O.K."

We would like to take this
opportunity to thank Dungarvin Alabama for their patience, devotion and
kindness during the care for our departed sister.
Christine was born a normal
baby, but at eight-months old she was diagnosed as a polio victim, which
left her partially paralyzed on her left side and mentally retarded.
She lived with our parents
until our father's death in December 1988. In September 1990, we
moved Christine and our mother to Alabama. In 1993, she fell and
broke her hip. The hip replacement left her on a walker with very
restricted movement. In 1994, through the help of Mental Health
Services, she was placed in assisted living at St. Andrews Place in
Birmingham, where she remained for 12 years. Her condition
continued to deteriorate and in January 2007, a ray of sunshine came
into our lives. Christine was placed in the care of Dungarvin
Alabama, where she lived the final nine months of her life. She
received love and care around the clock for those nine months and she
was the happiest she had ever been in her 67 years of life. She
loved all of the staff members and felt truly loved in return.
We will never be able to
actually thank Sandra Gallimore, DeeEtta Harden, and their staff for all
the extra effort shown in making the best of a very bad situation.
Our thanks also go to Kristy Simmons of Mental Health, and Michele
Ferris of Community Hospice and their staffs [sic].
One of the final things that
Christine said to us before her demise was "Everything is going to be
okay. I love everybody here and everybody loves me" and I saw
angels flying over my bed.
I truly believe Christine is in
heaven enjoying a healthy body for the first time in 67 years.
With all our love,
Marvin & Allene Day
